Commemorating 100 years since the outbreak of WWI, the former Poet Laureate reads from his stunning new collection, The Customs House, opening with a sequence of war poems which draws on soldiers’ experiences from both world wars, through to the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hear these reflections spoken by one of the most beautiful voices in the country. Andrew also reads from his other works and from the poems of the WWI War Poets. Includes a Q&A session and book signing. Andrew Motion is President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE). His latest project is Poetry By Heart. This event is presented by Words in Walden and Saffron Hall.
